Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Brooklyn Bridge

This trip has been one of my most favorite trips of all time. At first I didn’t know what to expect or how I would enjoy this trip, but once we started I began to fall in love with the city and the people I was with. On Monday afternoon we all went to see the Brooklyn Bridge. While we were there, Mr. Sattler spoke to us about the history of the bridge and what it took to build it. From laying its foundation under the water to putting together the bridge’s suspension, many people died throughout the construction of the bridge. Once we got to the bridge, we spoke more about its structure and about its view over the East River. The flow and style of these Korean nature paintings invoked a sense of peace, admiration, and beauty onto me. Definitely, this section of the museum was my absolute favorite and I could have just stayed in that room for hours. Later, we also walked through The Astor Chinese Garden Court which was a beautiful structure of an ancient Chinese garden. While walking through this, my whole group was just in awe of the beauty and structure of this room. Wednesday Morning, we embarked on a visit to the Museum of art and design. At first, I didn’t know what to expect because I have never experienced or seen Modern art or art made with diverse types of mediums, but I found some new inspiration and a favorite style of art and beauty after visiting a certain floor. Definitely, my favorite part about this museum was viewing the art style of Miriam Schapiro. At the start of the museum I had no real interest in the pieces I saw, but when I saw Schapiro’s pieces I felt a sense of creation, wonder, and innovation.
