Each and every one of us have dreams, wishes, and goals that we would like to see come to fruition. Ever since I was a little boy, my life has revolved around soccer. I was fascinated with everything about it and my dream was about becoming a soccer star. It was always there for me to sweat out all my pain and problems and for that reason I will always be grateful to my brother for introducing me to such an amazing sport. However, as I grew older I quickly started realizing that soccer might not necessarily be a dream worth chasing and instead a fantasy that would never occur. As I transitioned from dreaming about soccer I realize that what I’ve always liked about soccer wasn’t playing for a team, but to have and be a part of one.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
While I was in high school, I joined the soccer team. There were 15 girls in a team. There were three girls, whose last name was Lepcha. Who think that they play better soccer then everybody in a team and they do play well but not good as they thought they were. They had started playing soccer for one or two years ago. There were two other girls, whose name was Sabina and Dilu. They were my best friends. My one friend Sabina had played soccer for quite long and she played well but she did not have an attitude as Lepcha did. My second friend was Dilu; she was not that good at soccer. It was her first time playing soccer just like me. I do not know other people who were on a soccer team but the one thing I know about them was that it was their
I played soccer since I was seven, as of the last few years I played at a very high level. I have represented Ohio South two times at a regional showcase, I have been invited to participate in a camp in Manchester, England and attended the camp twice. Also last Season for the Newark High School soccer team I was named first team all league and third team all central district. Soccer was the first sport I truly loved to do, I wanted to be the best. I work hours upon hours to master whatever part of the game I wanted to improve on. Soccer has taught me to have a great work ethic, and that mentality came when I was cut from the state team the first time I tried out. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I was destroyed, and I thought I was not good but I knew I could do better. The next year I worked, I got bigger, stronger, faster, my soccer I.Q. was higher;therefore, overall I was a much better player. The result of that work, was that I made the team, but not only, I made the starting line up. After that I knew I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
Soccer is my passion, I love soccer with all my heart. But, I remember when I used to suck at it. I remember the first time I went to go try out for a club team, I wanted to quit playing right after that practice. Everyone was so good at the sport and I didn’t have any experience. But, I kept trying and I got better and better. I finally went to a team that was more my level, and we’ve all grown up together as a very strong team. I’m glad I kept going with soccer, it’s such a fun sport to play. My biggest dream is to get looked at by a college and get a scholarship in soccer. But, for that to happen, I have to work really hard for my goal to play in college. My last symbol is a paint brush. I love to draw, even though I’m not the best at it I still practice to get better at it. I also love looking at art because it’s so beautiful. What I love about art is that it tells a story and you have to figure out what that story is.
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
To be a part of the squad for my schools' soccer team has been one of my life's goals and has finally been fulfilled. My previous attempts to get on my high school soccer team in Jamaica failed because I wasn't skilled enough at the time. Since arriving to the United States, I have trained diligently and have accomplished my goal of making my school's soccer team.
Ever since I was a little girl soccer has been my absolute passion throughout my life. Anytime someone asked me what I wanted to do when I was older I would answer and say "I want to play soccer for a D1 soccer team. " I started playing soccer when I was three years old just for fun. I played on a recreational team with my cousin until I was the age of seven.
I've recently came to the realization that plying full time soccer from when I was 5 years old to now has put a toll on my body.
This sport has become a part of me and it’s allowed me to be who I am. The day I stepped into the life of club soccer, I couldn’t do anything without thinking how it’s going to work into my soccer schedule. It’s something I want to continue to do, whether that’s me going on to play professionally or I just end up coaching youth soccer. All I know is that I can’t think of me and my life without soccer because it identifies me. I truly don’t know who I’d be without
Therefore, I joined a soccer team following the example of my brother who also played. Even after all those years, I continue to play soccer. I participate on both my school team and local club team. Playing on both teams has helped to shape my personality, values, and help me learn responsibility.
Have you ever done something and just knew that this is what God had planned for you to do? That's the way I feel about soccer. When I was younger my parents had me do all sorts of sport like ballet, gymnastics, dance, baseball, and finally soccer. I was seven when I first stepped out on a soccer field. It was different then all the other sports I had previously played. I fell in love with the sport at a young age, and it helped that I had a natural talent for the sport. When I’m on the field playing soccer with crazy amazing athletes for teammates, all my worries go away. I invest myself in the game and time soars by me. I feel at home on the field knocking girls over, breaking ankles, and scoring some pretty spectacular goals. The best part
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
I was always taught that soccer was to be about the love of the game and that it should be fun. Unfortunately, I faced many obstacles that I needed to overcome before I could truly love the game for what it was worth. I grew and continued to love the game, knowing little at the time of the obstacles I would be faced with, and would need to overcome. My struggles with soccer began early in my life. I was an average player, who had a drive to succeed and go far.
When I grow up I will become a soccer player. I will become this because I really love the sport. I have played for soccer for seven years and I don’t plan to quit. I play as a forward on a select soccer team named the St. Louis Prospects.
