The Journey to the Top High school is a one of the most important parts of a person’s life. It is a stepping stone to the rest of their life. It is a journey that people take to prepare them for success in the real world. My journey in high school was quite a crazy one. From having to start as a freshman at a brand new school, with no friends, to working hard in some pretty tough classes to become the senior I am now. It has been rough, but I believe that my journey to the top has prepared me for the success I see for myself in the future. Since I did not know anyone, the first day of my freshman year was one of the roughest days of my life. As I walked on campus, I saw friends gathered up in their groups. I felt so out of place and alone. For the first couple of days, I walked to class and stood in the courtyard by myself. Until one day a person, that would become one of my friends, did the unthinkable and decided to invite me into their group. That was a huge confidence booster. As I began to socialize more, more and more people would talk to me. This helped me with my morale and also with my grades. Since I had people talk to, I was able to be happier and focus more on my work. As the year went by, things just kept getting better. As I came out of my shell more and more, I began to gain more confidence and develop more relationships with friends and teachers as well. I was one of those people that hung out with people older than me, so I had more opportunities than some other people in my graduation class. It was nice, but there was a downfall to that. Since I didn’t hang with people from my class, I did not have a relationship with most of them. That led to some problems for me in the next year. One problem that I was fortunate not to have was grades. I ended this year with another high honor roll and a 24 on my
