Personal Narrative: My Captone Project

Throughout my Capstone Project, that would bring my career here at Marshall to an end, I decided to use this opportunity to learn as much as possible about the different facets of my project I was passionate for. When I started, I realized that there was a good chance I will be using many of these skills someday down the road. Some of it may not seem relevant know, but you just never know what life will bring you.
To get started I would have to start with my internship with Sammy Coleman. I was able to learn so much in just those few short days that I never could of online. Even if some of the things he did went right over my head at the time, I think it was a great start. In addition, it wasn’t just about what he did on the job that I learned. This was the first time I got to see the day to day life of a technician and what it all really inquires. It’s one thing to watch a technician replace a circuit board or fix a power line, but you don’t get the whole picture until you actually go and work with them for a couple days.
Prior to my Capstone Project I had never worked with security cameras, but I wasn’t worried about it and I welcomed the new challenge. I enjoyed putting up the cameras and wiring everything. I even got to try using a hammer drill for the first time which was pretty cool. It wasn’t much different from a normal drill though. One thing I didn’t anticipate was just how much climbing I was going to have to do. The building is three stories and you have to use a ladder to get to the second and third story. I have to admit, I was gassed after climbing up and down the ladder after about the thirtieth time. You can bet I learned to plan ahead and make sure I had everything before heading up to save myself from an unnecessary
