I woke up one morning ready to go bear hunting with my papaw. me and him had to load the dogs up so I went and got them. We took off as we sped down twenty-mile road and out of nowhere they were roaringly load. We cut the dogs off the box they were out of there like a bolt of lightning. It took my dogs Sundance and Lilly nine hours to tree the massive black bear. We had to drive from about one end of twenty mile to the other which was about four hours of driving to get to the tree. When we got there, I got out my gun and started to go to the tree when we got there I loaded the gun and got ready to shoot there it was setting in the closest fork up the tree, "Hey pawpaw can I shoot it" I yelled He hollered "Yeah go ahead" so I drawled down
I rushed out to the truck as the horn blared. I threw my things into the truck and we went off towards the woods. I had to talk to Kevin about where the deer come from when i am sitting in the stand. He told me everything I needed to know about the place less than 10 minutes in the hot and humid truck. Well let's go back to see what led to this.
As I stood next to the goat pen, I noticed my dad in his grey pickup sped into our driveway. His vehicle being followed by several others with flashing lights, although the last vehicle scared me the most. It was an ambulance. I remember being so scared I couldn't move at all, I was speechless. When I
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
I woke up and got ready for a hunt and when I was leaving the house my mom asked “where are you going?” I said” I am going to the market to talk”. When I left I went straight to the fence and ran to the woods. I met up with My friend Gale and we went to go hunting. While we were hunting we could hear things but we did not know what it was. Then after a while we started to set up some traps and check the other ones we set up the day before. Soon we saw a bunnie and i took a shot and the Bunnie died all instantly. We kept on looking around and after a little bit longer and we saw nothing then we checked the traps and their was nothing so we were going to check tomorrow.
In the blinding haze of the preceding story, I am less able to comprehend why so many mature women have participated in the cougar mythology. After playing cougar for five minutes, I can honestly say I did not experience the wild adrenaline of a predator on the hunt or the euphoria of capturing prey. Instead, I felt like a wild cougar, preyed upon, in a canned hunt.
When I was twelve years old, I experienced a crisis in my life. One which I will never forget; it was the summer of 2010. And I was staying at my Grandparents acreage, fifteen minutes west of Calgary. One morning me and the neighbor boy decided to take a walk to the bottom of the acreage. I can’t remember what was said on that walk. But I will never forget what happened next. As we were walking and talking and just be in our own little world. The neighbor boy happened to look up from the ground. He stopped walking and just stood there frozen in fear. It took me a few minutes to realize. That they’re was a three-hundred-pound grizzly bear, maybe fifteen to twenty feet from where we were standing. Just pawing at the ground and digging through the ant hills.
One late afternoon my dad asked me if I wanted to go hunting. And I was like yeah why not so we come to the house and got our hunting stuff ready for the morning. Then we woke up at five o'clock and went to my tower stand and all I saw was squirrels. Finally I heard some crackling and popping sounds of something it was an eight point buck. Then I tapped on my dad's shoulder and said look , I waited and I thought he is in drop zone so I shot and he ran about one hundred seventy five yards to a complete stop. Therefore we waited on another one but , that didn’t work so we went to my deer and he was still alive so I got my dad’s pistol and shot him because I didn’t want him to run off.
I was in 5th grade my dad and step mom had a surprise for me. We went out to eat for my birthday, when we came home they had a scavenger hunt ready for me in our house. I thought the scavenger hunt was just a fun way to celebrate my birthday but it turns out it was much more than that! They had put little clues in the scavenger hunt to show where we were going and what we were going to be doing at this place. As I would go find the clues for this scavenger hunt I would find cool pictures of Disneyland, and Disney characters along with this really fun water park and the beautiful beach. As I would find more pieces to the scavenger hunt they had started to put bigger things on the cards i'd find. I still wasn't 100% on where we were going, I also didn't want to get my hopes up and then be wrong and end up not going. As I got to the end of the scavenger hunt there was a big box I could hardly carry it because it was big and heavy, (i'm sure it didn't have anything to do with me being short and weak!) I went inside and opened the box. As I opened the box all of these balloons flew out at my face, (they actually kind of scared me.) I took out wrapping paper that was covering a bunch of things. In the box there was this small little scrap book for kids to take pictures and just quickly print them off and you could put
The summer of my junior, my friend Brandon went to Big Bear. He was there for a week and said “I got something for you”. He refused to tell me what it was no matter how much I insisted. My first thought was that he was going to be the goofball that he is and say he brought me snow. When he finally got back and we both entered our summer class he showed me. In slow motion I could see what he had in his backpack. It was a coca cola bottle, but as I turned it I realized that it had my name on it. I have always told him that merchandise with names on it usually never have my name. It was such a simple gift yet so thoughtful. It meant a lot to me because something so small made me smile. It meaningful because it was a surprise but not one I expected
Have you had a bad day in the morning and it just reflects right off of you. Well you haven't well i’m going to tell you my story of what happened that day. It was 11:09am, my dad was with me and we were hunting. So let’s begin the story.
I lay on the floor shaking. I had heard two shots fire off and make impact with someone. I lifted my head up and saw that everyone was still lying on the ground I stood up and looked around just in time to see a boy about my age running out the door frantically. He looked like he was hysterical and I figured that I should investigate.
thought it was going to be just an average day, but I was most definitely wrong. I had put on my hunting clothes, clipped my ammunition on my black pants, then held my shotgun under my arm. After making sure I was all good to go hunting in the woods, I set off. As I started walking, I could hear people talking in the distance, gravel crunching under my feet and deer galloping across the forest floor. It was very good I could hear deer because I was on one mission; to hunt any animals. I needed the meat to feed my family. Even though it seemed like we were wealthy; being that I had hunting equipment and we owned an acreage, we had just gone bankrupt around 3 months ago. We were now living paycheck to paycheck, hardly getting enough food to survive. All our clothes were cheap, ratty and old. In order to save some money and get some more food I went hunting every week. Usually I have some luck and this day I was hoping for plenty animals.
My brother replied, “Okay i'm going to practice, I will be back in a little.” I watched him get in his car and drive away. I got up and started to walk around the block to look for my dog. I couldn’t find him anywhere. I got done walking around the block and starting walking to my garage. I got in my house and when I was walking up the stairs my phone started to ring. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could and picked up the phone.
I had just joined the fire department, and I had not yet received my pager, so I was not able to know when we had a fire call. On my way to church one morning with my two sisters, I saw red flashing lights. After I had seen the lights, I looked up and saw smoke coming from a house across the street from my church. I realized that it was the lights off of a fire truck; therefore, I dropped my sisters off at church and drove to the fire station. When I got to the fire station, all the doors were up and all the fire trucks were gone. I immediately ran to my locker and began to put my fire gear on. Then I got back in my truck to go to the fire.
Question: Do you know what 15 seconds of fame means, well I know what it meant and I had my 15 seconds of fame during one of my first fishing experience. Another thing is We’ve been fishing for like 2-3 hours because I didn’t know the rules which took 1 hour to learn and for myself to demonstrate. To be honest it was fun and a cool somewhat family bonding time.
