Introduction:
During this report, I hope to lean more about myself and what i might be interested in doing as a career none day. I am very curious to learn the different careers CFNC.org has suggested.
During this assignment, I have taken two surveys: the Career Cluster survey and the Basic Skills survey. The Career Cluster survey showed me different subjects I might be interested in. My top cluster was Health Sciences. I am not very surprised at my results because science has always been an interesting subject to me
The Basic Skills survey shows you skills you may be good at. My results were tied with top four clusters: Active Listening, Mathematics, Science, and Learning Strategies. Again, I wasn’t too surprised at my results. I am normally strong in both math and science. I definitely will use these results to determine my career choice.

I chose this because I personally am an athlete and I think I would enjoy helping hurt athletes get back to playing longer and more efficiently. I also chose Physical Therapy because I would be working with people most of the day. I would much rather work with people than with a computer.
During this job, I would be responsible for working with injured patients to help them recover correctly and as quickly as possible. I will also be responsible for recording the patient’s treatment and progress to be able to discharge them when goals have been attained. This job takes place inside and rarely ever

I like how as a PTA you get to be more hands-on while performing treatment, and every day you have the opportunity of creating connections with patients, besides of being able of improving the person’s quality of life. My volunteering and life experiences will continue to inspire me to become the health professional I want to be someday, and being part of this community of professors and students will help me achieve my dream career as a physical therapy
I stated earlier the one thing I was certain about what I wanted in my career choice was to be able to help people in some sort of way. Being a physical therapist would allow me to do exactly
I do agree with the results to an extent, I say this because I personally think I fit exceptionally well into the interests of conventional and investigative. I enjoy science and mathematics very much in school, and they have always been my favorite classes to take. The only thing that I do not know entirely about is as I mentioned above about being social. I think as I grow older, and find myself more it will become more apparent or not if I am a social person. The careers that caught my interest while looking over my results were: medical service, healthcare, mathematics, science, and taxes/accounting. These fit well into what I like to do, as well as being something I take high interest in for college. Another one that came up was teaching and education. It is something that I have looked into but have not decided if that is the route I would like to go into. Teaching is something that I do enjoy to do, especially with younger children since I have a very young sister and the patience for it. One thing that I have not made up my mind about is if it is something that I want to do the rest of my life. It is something that I will be looking into since it can be a very rewarding
I wanted to be in a healthcare profession where I know I could spend quality time with my patients, and be able to help them to improve their quality of life in all aspects. Occupational therapy was the perfect fit. I have found that occupational therapy, amongst others, is one of the most holistic health care professions and I am very proud to have chosen this as the career path to take. It is a profession that requires understanding, compassion, and sensitivity; all of the characteristics that I tremendously value . Occupational therapy is a career where there will certainly be much contribution to society and also bring enormous self-fulfillment.
The career I have chose is Physical Therapy(PT). Physical Therapist do many different things, but their main function is to help impaired or physically disabled people enhance their movement and handle their pain. Physical Therapist are a main source in the rehabilitation, medical care and prevention of people with long lasting illnesses or damage. The reason I chose this career is because I love helping people and enjoy seeing people be motivated and succeed at their task. To help someone gain full strength in their limbs or maybe even learn how to walk again is my lifelong dream. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career
Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future. Self-Exploration Over the course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. The results of my Personal Globe Inventory (PGI) presented me with a couple of different career paths to explore. The first type of career that brought to my attention was an enterprising career.
The reason that I fell in love with Kinesiology was the broad career options. If I want I could work alongside children, or take my education a set further and become an Occupational Therapist. Since childhood I have known that I wanted to help people with their physical being. So naturally, it has leaded me to explore the medical field, and participate in clinical rotations. I was able to distinguish that my love would gear more toward helping the elderly restore their mobility in their day to day lives. I have chosen Kinesiology because it will give me the foundation of how the body moves, that way I can take that knowledge to Occupational Therapy school.
...to communicate with your patient in order for them to be updated with their family’s sickness. And also have compassion towards them. You are likely to see a lot of injuries and scenarios play out among patients that have been admitted to the hospital. There are many achievements in this field that you may accomplish. And priorities that you have to deal with. For instants your time you have to adjust your schedule.
but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it. Sports medicine involves athletes who are constantly training to be in the best physical shape they can be in. It involves athletes with rehabilitation and supplements that they can take to help either recover faster or to help them perform better on their playing field. A lot of high caliber athletes such as olympians are involved in sports medicine, because it is able to get you back into your sport, faster and with less likelihood of re-injury.
Throughout my last three years in college it has been difficult to manage school and a job. I come from a low-income family and seeing them stress doesn’t make it easier for me. My father works in foster farms in the clean up team. These past two years his hours have been cut and now works 8 hours a day. In the past he used to work up to 10 hours per day. He was diagnosed with diabetes and have made it a little more difficult to sustain his work and health. Working under the hot weather and having diabetes makes it more uncomfortable for him but he knows he is the one we depend on for financial support. My mother works in packing house and they are seasonal. It’s not guarantee every year that she has her position in her job. My mom’s jobs
Music in general has changed and maybe took over my mind. It sparked my mind when I attended a middle school band concert. The band was so fantastic, I wanted to join band when I go to that school. Luckily, they accepted new students who never played any instruments before, so this was my start.
“Class, welcome to class. I am excited to meet all of you. We have lots of exciting things that we are going to be learning this year and one thing we are going to learn is how to be writers.” My new teacher, Ms. Shaw gushed. I twisted my head, to look around. I didn’t need to, I already knew there wasn’t a solitary window and imaginarily I slapped my forehead and fell to the ground writhing as if I were in immense pain. As if a million miles away, I heard Ms. Shaw declare “The hardest part of writing is being willing to share what you write, so the first thing that we are going to do is to get to know each other.” I heard as my body continued to spasm. Would anyone would notice if I ran out of the class screaming, I pondered? With another
My interest consist of realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional. My strongest are investigative, artistic, social, and enterprising. I would like to start my own business or start below someone and eventually earn taking over the company. The type of careers that appeared were mainly social workers or a teacher. Personally, I never considered being a social worker because I do not really have an interest in working with the law. I am surprised about the low rating for realistic because I rather do hands-on and face to face situations rather than just sitting behind a desk. I have been satisfied with this quiz because it gave me a single career then branched out into different ways I could enjoy that career.
Coming to the point of my current career choice has been a long road. My idea of what a career is or should be has changed with circumstances and age. According to Weintraub (2005), “the average worker spends only four years in a job and will have 12 jobs in as many as five career fields during his or her working life.” (para. 1) My first career was marriage and motherhood followed by a surprising healthcare career. What the future holds waits to be seen. With a bachelor of science degree in information technology the options are wide open.
