Lastly, I not only chose to continue my education to accomplish my own personal goals but for my children. I am always telling my children that education is the key to success and that they can accomplish anything through hard work and dedication. I believe that parents who understand the value of education are more likely to have children who value education, also increasing the chances that their children will pursue higher levels of education. As their mother, I know I am their greatest influence and I want to be their role model demonstrating by example the importance of education. Finally earning my degree will not only put me in company with an elite group including only one other in my family but I would finally be fulfilling a personal goal. Financially, earning my degree will give me a better opportunity to support my family, get additional qualifications and make myself more marketable in my field. Being a role model for my teenage children is important. Returning to college I am leading by example that it is never too late to accomplish a goal. Returning to school and earning my degree shows my children I do value education and also increases the chances they will work towards their own postsecondary education. All that come with being a non-traditional college student is tough but overcoming all uncertainty to reach my goal will be my true test. With the support of my family coupled with my confidence and motivation, I know I will reach every goal set and earn my degree.
