I completely agree with each of my results. I perceived myself as a introvert, feeler and judger prior to taking the quiz. As an introvert, I generally dislike big crowds and only enjoy engaging in a small group of friends or family. As a sensor, I tend to learn from experience and focus with detail, fact, and routine. For example, being on a routine basis during school hours is efficient for my success as a student. In the judging component of the assessment I need my everyday tasks to be in order, planned properly, and structured. For instance, whether meeting a friend for coffee, or submitting an assignments, each must be planned precisely. Subsequently, I try my best to be practical, but in some circumstances I can react and conclude in the opposite manner. For example, relationships and friendships sometimes change my perception from a realist to an optimist. I sometimes think of irrational possibilities rather than basing my decisions off morality, value and compassion. 2. A recent decision that occurred was whether or not to return a strangers’ wallet that had fallen. I was walking from class to the bus stop at Humber College when I noticed a young woman’s wallet fall in front of me. My id (pleasure principle) was urging me to either pick up the wallet, keep it, or walk away as if I did not see anything. (Weinten & Dunn, p. 23). I believe I was intelligent enough to understand that I should return it but instinctively I did not want to. I reached for my ego (the decision making component) and realized that this woman’s entire day would be ruined if she noticed her valuables were missing. I began to think someone may be watching me decide on whether to return the wallet or not (Weinten & Dunn, p. 23). I waited a few seconds before making a final decision. I reached for the superego part of the psyche and knew I had to return the wallet immediately. My superego (moral component/social standards) reminded me of my values and morals as a young adult (Weinten & Dunn, p. 24). If I had personally lost my wallet, I would have wanted it returned safely. Moreover, my superego had the most force in my decision. Many of my decisions are based off morality and personal value. I wanted to return the wallet because no one deserves to
Understanding why people do what they do has baffled people for centuries. The Myers-Briggs Personality test has answer a few of these questions. Are you an Extrovert or an Introvert, Sensor or iNtuitive, a Thinker or a Feeler, a Judger or Perceiver? Once you have the tools to understand yourself, you are capable of understanding others. How does your personality complement a coworker, a family member? How can I be more understanding based on my knowledge of how a coworker comes to conclusions about life and their surroundings? According to the IPIP-NEO personality assessment I am average when it comes to extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness but, rank low on the neuroticism and openness to experience categories. When I read the title ‘openness’ I assumed that it would mean friendly or something along the lines of that. After I read the description of what openness truly means I was a bit offended at first because I believed the score was telling me that I was not a smart person. As I read deeper into the meaning that the assessment gave I realized that “down to earth, practical, and conservative” (Johnson) were not insults but adjectives that I would have chosen for myself, minus the conservative part. Conservative is not a word that I would ever use for my way of thinking and that one section of openness to experience did not correlate with me. I am not a person who likes to think critically and that may be the reason why I dislike math so much. I refuse to

Before I took the personality trait test I did not know what to expect and I did not have a clue on what type of questions would ask. However, after I had taken the test I realized that some of the questions that were asked were questions I personally never gave any thought about; before answering each question I had to deeply think about my response. Each template gave a percent of each characteristic I possessed. According to the test I was 34% introvert, 28% sensing, 31% feeling, and 22% judging. Although some would argue that their results are nowhere near correct, I would say that mine were, for the most part, spot on. I did conjure up a few disagreements; however, a more detailed and longer test might be able to give me a more in depth and accurate rating of my personality. The conclusions of my test say that I am moderately open to experience, highly conscientious, moderately extraverted, and high in both agreeableness and

Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
