The definition of perseverance is to be steadfast in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success (Google Search Dictionary). How as a young child does one overcome depression, anxiety, and addiction? You persevere. I persevered. Now I am almost a senior in highschool and living the best days of my life. I balance between home life, work, school, daily health. Emotionally I am on a roller coaster, yet a calm one with small bumps and turns. Mentally I am prepared for anything but always hope for the best. Physically I get stronger everyday to become the best me. This is how I overcame my past, leading me to be in the here and now. I have narrowed my future aspirations down to a few different lifestyles. First and foremost, my goal is to graduate high school maintaining my 3.7 GPA and accomplishments/scholarships. One future possibility is for me to join the Air Force, become a pilot and go to full time schooling till I get all my flight hours and my degrees. Depending on how well I do in the Air Force and my rank depends on if I would stay or rank out, meaning once I reach a certain pilot rank I will be able to get honorable discharge and keep my military benefits. If I choose to rank out at around age 23-25 I would go straight into Commercial or Private Charter piloting. Another option for piloting is to go to college with flight programs or an Aeronautical College. My college of interest in state is EKU and possibly NKU. Out of state I am interested in Embry-Riddle Aviation College in Florida along with many public universities that offer flight school programs. If I pursued becoming a pilot I would have to get my four basic years of college complete, along with 1,500 flight hours, and Bachelors or Masters degrees in any aviation field. This will roughly take me four-six years to graduate, creating the perfect time frame to go straight into work since I will be graduating at 22 and 23 is the required pilot age to start flying. Also, if I enter the Air Force, my costs will be covered and benefits are outrageous yet realistic and will help provide a comfortable lifestyle for my family and me. One concern I do have is my career choices are very demanding and time consuming and may get in the way of having a family or providing for my family emotionally and mentally. A resolution to this is to work my way up in my career to where I have more flexibility by the time I have children to be there for them and my spouse. Job loss will more than likely never be a problem because all my choices are always in a high demand in today's economy. In the long run, I will expect obstacles--they are inevitable-- but nothing life throws at me will keep me down. My assets and my outlook on life when in reality can aid me to be successful in anything I set my mind
