This essay is about the story of Perseus, a hero who killed Medusa and brought her head to his kingdom. At the beginning of the story Perseus wants to accomplish something in his life. He would rather die a warrior than never do anything in his life at all. He says: “Let me rather die a youth, fighting ever, suffering ever, than live at ease like a beast that feeds on flowery pastures and feels no fiery gladness, no heart bleeding pain.” To prove himself to the kingdom, Perseus sets off to get the head of Medusa.     Perseus was born to Danae and the Greek god Zeus. Acrisius, the father of Danae, was told by the oracle of Apollo that Danae’s son would kill him. After finding out that Danae had her son, Perseus, Acrisius shut Perseus and Dane up in a large chest cast the chest out to sea.
