In the book Perils of Prosperity by William E. Leuchtenburg, the United States at the time undergoes through times of tremendous economic growth and social changes in between 1914 to 1932. Leuchtenburg talks about some of the major changes that helped shaped the American society into what it is now today in his book. The standard of living rose, the economy flourished, the roles of women in the workforce and political changes are all examples of the major post-Civil War changes which Leuchtenburg talks about then leads into World War 1.
