There is no doubt that parents have a huge role in a child’s life. Parents have an enormous impact on a child physical, emotional, mental and cognitive development and well-being. There is countless reasons on why parents needs to be available and present in their children’s lives. Almost anyone in this world can have a child. Unfortunately that does not mean everyone knows how to be a parent. A Parenting Permit would dramatically help reduce the number of cases of child abuse, neglect and maltreatment and children undernourished. It would increase parent’s awareness and knowledge on parenting and the importance they play in their child’s life.

This program will also give and offer help when needed and remind parents on how much they impact their child. Third, the parents/legal guardians must be married, economically stable, attain some higher education or have a high school diploma, no criminal records with only few exceptions, and pass a drug test with only few exceptions. Fourth, the parents/legal guardians must take and pass a parenting test over the information they have been educated on during the Parenting Permit Program. The test must be taken in person before child is born. Fifth, the parents/legal guardians must make an oath in front of judge. The parents will make a solemn promise to never under any circumstances abandon, mistreat or neglect their child in any way or form. If there is reported abuse, Child Protective Services will visit the household to observe if there has been any mistreatment. If CPS reports any abuse or maltreatment, the child will be placed in foster care for adoption and the parent’s license will be revoked.
