When you're on the top of the mountain skiing down or just learning how to ski on the bunny slope, you're going to want to know how to stop if you don't already. There are two different ways to come to a complete stop in skiing. One way is snow plow and the other is a parallel stop. When you are younger and just learning how to ski you learn to snow plow or has some people like to call it “Pizza”. The snow plow is more for beginners and for people that never skied before. Then once you get better at skiing and stopping. You eventually learn how to parallel stop and some people like to call this “French fries. ”

That is also why an average person or even an average skier doesn't know how to parallel stop. When you want to parallel stop you want your skis to be close together and they shouldn't be facing down the mountain. Once you turn you want to take the turn slowly and you are going to want to make more turns so you don't go to fast. When you have made all of your turns and you're ready to finally stop where ever on the mountain. Mos of the time more of your weight will be on the ski closer to the bottom of the mountain when you are turning. So when your are making a left turn you're right ski will have the more weight on it. At the same time you are going to want to put most of the pressure on the edges of your skis because that will make you stop. While you're doing this you want to make sure your still balanced so you don't fall and you are going to want you body lined up with your skis.
