Overcoming Obstacles Essay

If one was to be fixed at a point in order to see the future, one would definitely see some obstacles. One would either turn away to ignore it or face it headlong in an attempt overcome it towards achieving a desired goal. I have looked ahead into my future and have seen several obstacles and would like to overcome them. Therefore I have a story to tell. As a child raised up by an extended family; especially her grandparents and uncle because I was had an absentee father. My grandmother, grandfather (of blessed memory) and uncle dedicated their love, time and money into my education, saying that I want to make them proud would be a gross understatement, apart from the success that I want to be a tag in my life. Their dream for me is to be an educated and independent woman and therefore wish to acquire this scholarship to fulfill that dream knowing that this scholarship will remove some of the obstacles I have seen in my life as afore said. It is my desire to obtain a Master’s degree in order to bring myself closer to actualizing my dream of becoming a responsible member of the society and giving back to it. Self-esteem has been built in me over the years and being chosen for this scholarship will enhance this self-esteem because this scholarship will give me a sense of fulfillment. As in all scholarships, I know that the competition is tight and being selected makes one out as different and special, that out of many I was selected. Nevertheless, assuming that I am not chosen for this scholarship, I know I will not relent in my effort to remain stagnant, I will use the available resources around me to move towards the goal I set for my life.
