In the United State, we live in a country in which we have the right to choose and the freedom to have a choice. We the people have fought for our freedom and rights. Yes having policy will keep us in order but when it acts upon their freedom that's when they cross the line. In some countries every young person must serve two years of military service. The United State is planning on doing the same for us. Us, the people, wouldn't want that. Our parents wouldn't want that and the young wouldn't want that. Imagine if you were forced to serve the military for two years. Elbert Hubbard once said responsibility is the price of freedom. We should not live in a world in which we would have to something that we don't want to do. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution on December 15, 1791. According the Bill of Rights we have the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of religion, the freedom of assembly, the freedom of petition and the freedom to bear arms. And guess what else do we have? We have the right to equal justice. The government shouldn't enforce the law that should apply to every young adults or teenager. We have the right to enjoy many other freedoms. You can work at any job you qualify to. You have the freedom to join a political party, a union, and any other legal groups. Though some people might say this have nothing to do whether we want to do it or not. In my beliefs it is not to impose this on someone who's not even old enough to confirm what they're going to do in the future. This will not only affect our rights but it will affect our time we have spent. Time is valuable and we don't have that much time. It is my belief that we all should live life a we want to live life. We can always v... ... middle of paper ... ...ty to discipline them. We have adults, we have family, and most importantly, we have guardians that are there to teach us. It's not necessary to apply this to us. We have to do what's good for the country and we have many options for that. The military is not the choice for everyone. Everyone can achieve what they want. If the person feels comfortable on committing to join the military then will do an outstanding job on doing so. For the reasons above, I believe that the United State should not have this policy. Not only that they will be breaking the law for it but it's for the young adults or teenager. No one should interfere with our freedom and our lives as human beings. We all believe that we should have the choice on doing in what we desire and what we enjoy. While doing our job with a smile on our face will rise and we will become powerful and outstanding.
Indeed, no person can live forever because our bodies are mortal. Therefore, everyone should seize the chance given in the few years on earth to accomplish his or her desires. Historically, no human has lived past 130 years, except the narrations in the Bible or other religious books. Accordingly, this demonstrates the limited life that humans have, which is prone to a premature end due to diseases, accidents, and calamities. For this reason, the uncertainty of the human life makes it necessary for the people to live each day as their last on earth so that they can strive to perfect the desires, duties, and responsibilities bestowed on them. Furthermore, the completion of the tasks should not be a routine but rather a passion for creating a better environment for the success of
On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified effective by Congress. These first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America promised the states certain rights and freedoms which could not be infringed by the government. After all, the founding fathers knew from experience that men in their weakness were often tempted by power. They had become all too familiar with this when under the control of King George in England. Therefore, in order to protect the future people of their beautiful country, they promised certain liberties which could not be taken away. Every single one of these freedoms is important for the United States of America. However, the second amendment is especially important to our nation because it allows the people to protect their freedom and defend themselves and the common good against an overreaching government.
In this case I leaned towards a strict interpretation of the laws because I believe that freedom of assembly is an important right. As said before, every American should have equal rights but the person in charge, like the guardian of a minor, should be the one to restrict these
The first inception of individual rights began with the founding fathers of the United States, who had a vision in which all citizens would have the right to live in this country without being discriminated based on race, gender, religion, or sexual preference (US Constitution, 2010). These are basic human rights for which many people lost their lives to protect as this country was formed. Nonetheless, today one lives in a society in which one must fight to continue to posses those rights once again. Similar to the rest of history, when there have many examples of individual rights were not protected.
We each ought to regard this one life which is very importance to us, since we each have just one life.
live day to day as a means to survive, and only then would we truly
It is key to have a good discipline in the army because without discipline we wouldn 't be able to complete our missions successfully or any
Being in the military is a big responsibility and incredibly hard, but it is a very good thing to be joined in. Men that are in the army get in trouble if they sass their commanding officer or they don’t do their chores or wake up on time, so having teenage rebellious boys in the army would teach them discipline and responsibility. Most boys would learn really quickly after starting boot camp, that they are not allowed to slack off like they would at home, so after they do months of the training and after they are out fighting for their country, they will take those skills they learned home with them and their parents will most likely see a huge difference in the attitude of their
Marijuana has been used for recreational and spiritual uses since around 3000 B.C. It has held ties as a crop for industrial use through hemp fabric, one of the most efficient and cheapest fabrics available today. It has been the focal point of many religions, and it may have even been seen as a religious sacrament to early Jews and Christians (Delorde). In today's society it is still used by religions as a focal point, one of which being the christian based religion of Rasta. It has had as colorful of a history for use as a fiber as it has for recreational use. When Jamestown was founded in 1619 it was mandatory for farmers to grow Indonesian hemp. At some points in Americas early history you could even pay your taxes in hemp because of its value. Marijuana was made illegal, in 1937, after many years of fallacies and propaganda were spread about the apparent "dangers" of this drug smoked by blacks and Mexicans. When the United States Government attempted to create a prohibition of alcohol, they failed. Crime spiked along with the sales of the now "illegal" substance. What were the justifications of prohibition? What were the benefits? The prohibition of marijuana is currently facing the same problems the prohibition of alcohol faced. What is the solution? The legalization of marijuana would greatly lower unnecessary crime, keep tax money from going into unnecessary government organizations and ensure freedoms given in the Bill of Rights.
In conclusion, humankind is blessed with life as God created it. One must reflect on their actions throughout life because one will be judged by God in the next life, one must see the importance of gasping liberation, and one must have a loving and open heart when helping the poor. Life should be lived to its fullest because once time is lost, it cannot be regained; life needs to be appreciated.
Many individuals have different aspects as to how life should be valued. Some individuals live life a day at a time while attempting to make the most as if their last breath was upcoming. In a Stanford Commencement in 2005, Apple CEO Steve Jobs quo...
A soldier, conscripted or not, will face many stresses during their career. Serving for any amount of time is a trial, but some are more suited to the military than others. A drafted soldier may go through their entire mandatory term feeling miserable and insufficient, completely overwhelmed by the tasks that military professionals easily complete. These pressures and the denial of a choice of career should not be placed on any person. The idea of a two-year term of mandatory military service being implanted has been brought up. Military service should not be mandatory not only because it violates fundamental individual rights of humans, but also due to the fact that a military based on volunteers would operate much more impressively than one comprised of conscripted soldiers who would not have chosen to serve otherwise.
have no backbone. If a Soldier or civilian has no self-discipline then they are failing
Within democracies there is great dilemma between security (keeping the country and citizens safe) and liberty (honoring individual rights and freedoms). Many would attest that having both is vital to having a democracy. However, during specific periods, the government may value security above liberty or vice versa. In the particular scenario where a country goes to war, the true significance of the debate between security and liberty unveils. More specifically in a situation where a country orders a draft and enacts laws ordering those who protest against the war to be thrown in jail. In this situation, the government is placing the value of security above the value of liberty. Security is necessary, especially in times of war, but ignoring liberties jeopardizes the principles in which democracy was built. In addition, a lack of liberty can cause a country to be divided and citizens to become disloyal. All of which is a recipe for disaster during wartimes. While at the same time, it is important to respect people’s liberties, giving to many liberties threatens the security of the country by allowing citizens to protest and rebel against the government. Thus, a society must decide the right amount of both. People in a society with restricted liberties might begin to feel fear, anger, and resentment. This leads to protest, revolts, and mutinies such as it did in the scenario. Therefore, while security is imperative, undermining citizen’s liberties threatens the structure of democracy by restricting freedom, creating chaos and generating disloyalty in citizens.
Military Discipline is a state of order and obedience existing within a command. Self discipline in the military is where soldiers do the 4 rights without being told, even in the absence of the commander. Discipline is created within a unit by instilling a sense of confidence and responsibility in each individual. To strengthen discipline, senior leaders need to give praise to their subordinates, either individually or as a whole, for tasks done well. By doing this, it will accomplish every commanders goal of having a unit that functions well and builds a bond which binds together the team.
