For starters, Oprah Winfrey used perseverance to overcome her past. Firstly, when Oprah was younger she went through an incredibly rough child hood. For example, Advameg Inc. tells us on encyclopedia of World Biography that Oprah was between households. She jumped back and forth between her mother and her father’s home and experienced life changing events as a young child (Advameg Inc.). When Oprah lived with her mother in a poor, high crime neighborhood where her mother worked odd jobs and did not have time for her children. Oprah had been molested by family ‘’friends’’. This made Oprah behave poorly and she was sent back to her father where she started to be an intelligent young lady. Secondly, Oprah began to thrive with the help of her father. …show more content…

Firstly, Oprah had a passion for speaking in front of an audience. For instance, Advameg. Shares that when she was younger she would entertain herself by ‘’playacting’’ in front of an audience of farm animals. Thus, under the strict guidance of her grandmother she learned how to read at the age of two and a half years old. Secondly, her passion of speaking her opinions and views got herself into acting. For example, Advameg Inc. shares that the popularity of Winfrey’s show skyrocketed after the success of her first acting job in The Color Purple in September 1985 (Advameg Inc.). Therefore, she got more recognized on who she is and what her show stood for. Thirdly, Oprah formed her own production company, Harpo Inc. in August of 1986. For instance, Advameg Inc. tells us that she made Harpo Inc. because she wanted to see topics that she wanted to see produced. She made many television dramas. She moved on to writing her own novel and sold 68,000 copies. Hence, she became very successful because of her perseverance and passion. Therefore, if Oprah’s father Vernon did not make her education a priority, Oprah wouldn’t have much support if she had not. Secondly, she was hungry for more knowledge and success. For instance, after she formed her own production company in August of 1986, she started an on-air reading club, On September 17th Winfrey announced that she wanted to get the country reading. Thus, her adoring fans would read the book she was reading at that point and hey would discuss it together on-air the following month. For example, Startup Success Stories said that Oprah was active for various social causes. Oprah opened a charity named Oprah’s Angels Network to accumulate fifty-one million for several charities.
