The free enterprise system allows individuals to make their own economic decisions without government restriction.Oprah Winfrey is just one entrepreneur who would have not been made successful without this system. This woman is a self-made billionaire with respect to her pursuance in acting, producing, television hosting, and as chairman of Harpo Inc. Many charities have been impacted from the donations of Winfrey and her actions. As a once poor and African American she is living proof that free enterprise allows anyone to become successful.

Perhaps the most notable triumph of Oprah Winfrey is her job as host of her own television show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show". Because anyone is free to decide what they choose as a career, she had the opportunity to create this show. The viewings and acceptance of the consumers to her show allowed it's prosperity. Winfrey was born in to poverty, where she literally wore potato sacks as clothing. From this home life. she was abused both sexually, and mentally. Winfrey wasn't a wealthy person from the start or even when she decided to start her own TV talk show. Free enterprise may allow for those who have become wealthy to gain even more success, but it is more beneficial for those just starting out. This system allows anyone regardless of race, gender, or age to pursue what they want. Oprah Winfrey was not only a woman but an African American in an otherwise racist world when she began to strive for her future. Without the non-discriminatory system, Winfrey would have not been able to make the impact in the world that she has and still continues to do
