This essay I have decided to write about Oprah Winfrey. This is because Oprah had many serious life events. These life events must have implemented her key development stages or the other.
Oprah Winfrey is as American entrepreneur and a popular talk show host. She was born on January 29 1954 in Kosciusko Mississippi. She was the result of a broken teenage relationship and teenage pregnancy so as you can imagine it had quite an impact on her development as she grew up. Against all odds she became a very successful woman and is currently worth 2.8 billion USD.

These include diseases such as rickets which is caused by a lack of vitamin D. A lack of calcium leads to poor growth in children. At this tender life stage this is a very negative thing because children are still at the peak of their physical development. The malnutrition could have caused stunting which is because the malnutrition hinders growth in their height and weight. Sometimes stunted growth can be permanent and a child may never be able to return to a normal height or weight.
In Oprah Winfrey's case luckily for her she might have been incredibly underweight but she had no traces of these diseases caused by malnutrition.
Meanwhile for other babies having an underdeveloped brain could cause major physical problems for the child. This could include hearing loss and visual problems which would mean that the child would not be able to recognise voices and its surroundings. Another problem this could cause is feeding problems because the child might not be able to swallow this would cause major issues because the child wouldn't be able to get the nutrients it needs to …show more content…

This is important for feeding. The rooting reflex is a reflex that occurs when the babies mouth is stroked. The baby will turn around look for the nipple and begin to make sucking motions. The grasping reflex occurs when something is placed in the infants hand or thier palm is stroked the infants hand closes. At this age their grip is very strong. When the sole of their feet is placed on a surface they will attempt to walk even though they might not be able to support their own weight yet this is the stepping reflex.
