Nutrition is carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals that you put into your body to grow and be active. Calories are the amount of energy in food and drinks that you consume a day, although if you consume more calories than needed, your body will store it, which is known as fat. Poor nutrition will increase your chance of health problems and it can be very serious if you do not get the right amount of nutrition a day. It has been shown that it is easier to maintain a healthy weight than it is to lose weight because you have to burn off all that unnecessary weight that you do not want. For instance, if you have a candy bar and a apple sitting side by side and you ask someone to pick one that person is most likely to pick the candy bar because they know it has a lot sugar to taste delicious, but the apple is healthier and tastes amazing also, except, without all the added sugar to it. You have to be dedicated to improving your health. If you are craving candy bars and sweets, grab a granola bar or a power bar to fill you up. It is important to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to get all the nutrition that you need. Instead of getting candy that is fruit flavored, get the actual fruit and see how much it actually satisfies you. You can add fruit to your salad or you can just eat it by itself. Everyone at one point just craves ice cream but instead of having all of the added sugar you could get the same satisfactory by eating frozen yogurt, which is healthier for you.
