Tom Slater File management Folder structure I have a school drive that I save my files in for all my subjects. I have made folders for different digital technologies assessments like as91075 as90176 and as91070 in these folders I have saved all the relevant stuff for those assessments. This helps by knowing where all my stuff is for each assessment in case I need to resubmit work or find older work. When I made my website it was very important to save things in organized folders most of the time I didn’t do this and I left a lot of important documents floating around at the bottom of my T10.slater drive thing and I couldn’t find them a lot of the time, this led to me losing important pieces of work and having to redo them. Photoshop is good at editing images from the web into new images because it lets you edit each image individually on layers and add effects to the images to change how each one looks. In accounting we had to do balance sheets at home we were allowed to use the computer and I used excel because it lets you draw things up in charts easy and look at your data as a whole clearly it also saves time by not making you do calculations yourself because you can get it to add up all the figure in a column or row. In digital we had to do a website conceptual design and do a design thing of our websites we planned to make. Using GIMP was good because it let you do your design quickly and it was easy to use. A problem with it was that I couldn’t find the version of GIMP that I used at school for download on the web so it was difficult to work on gimp at home. When I created a static image for English I used Photoshop instead of GIMP because I found Photoshop easier to edit the images on and I could cut them out easier with the magic tool thing that let me highlight areas of the image to remove so it showed the background. when I was making my john cena math game I wanted an image of john cena for the home page but most of the ones I looked at were copyrighted and owned by other people so I used the option to google images search but on show images that were available for reuse with modification so I could change john cena around in case he wouldn’t fit in my game screen. I had a problem similar to this when I was looking for images for my website but I used creative commons search to find god images I could change around in Photoshop to create a banner for my website and I wouldn’t get caught for stealing someone’s image without their permission. When I was writing some of the parts for my conceptual design of my website I had to make sure none of it was copying form other people or it would be called plagiarism and it would get me in lots of trouble at school, to get around this I put it in my own words and just to be sure I ran all my work through a plagiarism detector on www.plagtracker.com to make sure none of it was still plagiarism. From 2011 and onward, my family had fallen into bankruptcy for paying out of pocket for my older brother’s medical expenses and surgery costs due to his diagnosis of heart failure. In 2013, when I took the standardized ACT exam two times, I scored both times an 18 which was below my university’s 2014 entering freshmen class’s composite score average of 24.5 (copy of score report is attached). Furthermore, upon taking the LSAT two times with over four months of self-studying for the September exam, I scored first a 141, and a 140 on my last attempt. In the beginning of the course, we discussed “NGD”. The two areas of “NGD” that we focused on were number and geometry. Number is discrete, finite, time, or sound. Geometry is continuous, infinite, space, or vision. Bronowski mentioned how “it’s said that science will dehumanize people and turn them into numbers” (374). Throughout the recent years, Photoshop has become a widespread phenomenon amongst the world. Along with that, the pressure to appear perfect in said pictures has increased dramatically. Society has become exceedingly focused on the idea of perfect, and what perfect looks like.
