Nikola Tesla is a man full of innovation. He is the symbol of a unifying force and inspiration for all nations in the name of peace and Science. He is not only one of the greatest minds in our countries history, but one of the greatest in the world. Nikola Tesla was a true visionary in the field of scientific development. From childhood, to inventing his AC motors, to the construction of the Wardenclyffe Tower, and to the day he died, Tesla was a great mind and a great inventor.

Born on July 10, 1856 in Smijan, Lika, which was part of the Austo-Hungarian Empire, a region of Croatia. His father was a Serbian Orthodox Priest, and his mother was an inventor in household appliances. As a young boy, Tesla showed signs of being very bright …show more content…

He designed the hydroelectric dam for Niagra Falls, which became the final victory for alternating current. He was even working on a design for a bladeless steam turbine that could operate at extremely high temperatures. This achievement was widely covered around the world and he was praised as a world wide hero. King Nikola of Montenegro even conferred upon him for the Order of Danilo.

By this time in his life Tesla had over 700 patents worldwide. He had created one of the top ten greatest discoveries of all time. Nikola Tesla began to withdrawl from the doubting world. He was beginning to show signs of Obsessive Compulsive Dissorder, and also, a potential case of high-functioning autism. He began to obsess over the number three. He had to do everything in three’s, whether it was shaking hands, or washing his hands. He did it all three times. He always had to have 18 napkins with every meal. He claimed to have an abnormal sensitivity to sound and have an acute sense of sight.

As his life was coming to a close, Tesla became fixated on pigeons. In particular, a certain white pigeon that he claimed to love almost as if it were a human.
