As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true. To be in the National Junior Honor Society, one must have good citizenship and character. I seek to be a part of this society because it is a great honor and shows not only to others, but also to myself, how hard I have worked throughout my years at Northvale Public School. I take part in school activities and have helped my teachers, so During Brain Busters meets, there are times that I am in charge of the group I am in and although it is a lot of responsibility, I know that my team is depending on me to help them. Also, on my lacrosse team, my coaches have put me in charge of the rest of the defense players and to tell them where to be and what they should try to do to stop the ball. There are other sports that I play, such as gymnastics, that I am only in charge of myself, but I have found that people look to me for help and to let them know what they could be doing. Even in class, when my class works in groups, many times when we need a speaker for the group or other roles that are important for the group to succeed, my peers look to me.
