The four pillars of National Honor Society (scholarship, service, leadership, and character) have been forming me each day so I become a better person than I was yesterday. Each unique pillar characterizes me to become a better citizen in society.
The scholarship pillar relates the most to me because I always put 110% into my schoolwork and academics. If it's for a grade or not, I always take a grand commitment towards my homework assignments. The honor of becoming my class's Valedictorian truly demonstrates the respect I have in my education. Education is a major key in life and my will towards it will never end. The scholarship pillar will guide me in the future by providing me the diligence to continue in a successful path. I can guarantee that my past academics will grow and lead me into success.
The service pillar has converted me into a better citizen the past years. Ever since I started volunteering in my local community, I have felt different about myself. Step by step, I have grown more to become an influential leader. Before my senior year of high school, I was always timid and shy to speak up. I knew I was capable of becoming a leader with my responsibility and intelligence skills, but my shyness held me back from achieving a leadership role at school and in the community. At school, I broke out of my insecurity bubble when I became the President of HOSA and later the President of the National Honor Society. In the community, I broke out of my shyness when I became a lector at church and became a teacher assistant in Sunday school.
