No one is required to stand for something that they do not believe in. The United States of America flag symbolizes so much but due to our right of freedom no one technically has to stand for it. It’s not disrespectful to kneel for the flag because everyone is entitled to their own option, their freedom of speech, and the right to feel how they want about the flag and the United States. Every U.S. citizen has the right to their own in depth options on whether they want to stand or kneel for the National Anthem. Kneeling for the anthem isn’t wrong. It’s allowing a person to express how they personally feel about the flag. In my eyes when I see a person kneeling it could be various reasons I think it could be a form of respect. Some people might have lost some loved ones to due tragic accident pertaining to the navy, army, marine forces, or any other military related job and it’s too hard for them to …show more content…

I truly believe that Trump is the whole reason for players to start kneeling trying to protest racial injustice during the national anthem. Trumps smart remark on calling the players SOBS should’ve never taken place. Him being the president of the United States he should’ve tried to cancel out all the negativity on the fact instead of trying to make more complications and not withdrawing the real issue. He honestly criticized the black community as a whole when he stood on a political podium and called the players SOBS. This criticized the black community because the players that knelt were African Americans. I feel like when he did that it showed that the “United” States is not united at all because of small racial slurs like he made.
