Abstract In this final paper I will discuss and explore the role of the forensic psychologist in the case study. I will examine what a forensic psychology should have used regarding assessment tools and how the individual’s rights should have been protected. I will explore different types of assessments which should have been provided with in depth results to help the youth offender which could have helped in the legal process. Other aspects in the paper is the ethical and multicultural considerations when working with specific clients and what you would see when the legal system shows its flaws when working with youth offenders during the trial of Breton Butler. . According to Borum (2006) the SAVRY is an assessment tool which is assess if the youth offender will display violent behavior. The assessment is used for youth who are between 12-18 years old. In the assessment it consists of 24 risk items that would be helpful with those who were studied in the article because the 3 subscales that are include are Historical, social, and Individual fields. In the first subscale which is evaluating the historical risk factors focuses on seeking and prior violent behaviors and experiences. In the second subscale which is social explores the factors that can influence the behaviors which either is family, peers, social settings that can influence any type of pattern and behaviors that play a role in continuation of violence.
