You know, there were politicians at some that were legitimately in it for good change, like a good person. Not in it for more people to know there names. The new minimum wage increasement is simply a promotional idea for Kathleen Wynne’s name and re-election. And her re-election along with this idea, screws us over for the future. Which is something I personally- can’t sit by and watch. This idea- that Kathleen Wynne dreamed about one night, and decided to tell everyone about the next morning, is not only ridiculous, but unexplainably insane. If one night I were to dream that every price in Ontario was going to go up almost 19%, I wouldn’t wake up and tell everyone about it like Kathleen Wynne seemingly did, without thinking of any consequences.
Many people against raising the minimum wage create arguments such as, “it will cause inflation”, or, “ it will result in job loss.” Not only are these arguments terribly untrue, they also cause a sense of panic towards the majority working-class. Currently, Ontario has the policy of raising employee' salaries to a minimum, it aims to help employees have more money to pay for the things needed in their life. However, the results are contrary to the initial expectations.
