As a millennial, we have adapted to the fact that older generations expect us to fail. We as a whole are looked down upon because of our age, as well as the reputation we have been labeled with. People born in the 90s are some of the most hard-working people you will encounter. Though some may say that we have it easy, we are continuously being tested by our skills and our patience in our everyday lives. Living up to the expectations of our elders is something that people think we are supposed to do. Though this is thought to be true by some, millennials were born to stand out, and have developed a way of thinking that is unlike the other generations. Millennials are the only generation that has gone with and without advanced technology. This This is understood by many seeing that it is easier to make your business run when you hire someone with knowledge on a subject. Though when faced with hiring a millennial, or someone from previous generation, it is more likely for the millennial to not get hired. Hiring a millennial is something that most workplaces try to avoid if they can. When they have a bad experience, they make sure to publicly state it. It is not unnatural for a workplace to have a problem with an employee, but the fact that it happened to be a millennial made it less about the person, and more about the generation. This also reflects on the reputation and the labels that the older generation places upon us. Millennials have goals for themselves that usually include getting a nice job and being able to provide for themselves. Denying the hiring of a millennial will eventually ruin your business. In 2020, millennials will make up 50% of the work force, therefor taking a position on your team. So why not hire now and have a millennial grow in your company so that they will be so full of knowledge and take your business to the next level?
