Michael J. Fox Movie Analysis

In the year of 1985, a movie trailer had just come out about an average kid in high school. The apparent star of the trailer, Michael J. Fox, is a high schooler who was starting to go through an awkward phase of his life. The trailer shows examples of his awkwardness by showing clips of him getting knocked over in a basketball game, a pretty girl talking to him, which, result in him embarrassingly dropping his books at his locker, and him going through awkward physical changes such as body hair and voice changes. The trailer then goes to show that Michael J. Fox is not some average joe, but in fact a werewolf. The trailer shows this by showing a clip of Michael J. In the very beginning of the trailer, the clip starts off with Michael J. Fox getting knocked over in an intense game of basketball. This immediately getting the viewer laughing, and it sure did make me laugh. Quickly, after the basketball scene ends, they show a clip of Michael J. Fox opening his locker next to a pretty girl, and all his books fall out on to the floor, which result in Michael J. Fox being embarrassed. In addition, there is a scene where Michael J. Fox is in a locker with his shirt off. He then goes and plucks a hair off his chest. The trailer adds a sound effect of a pluck noise to help the viewer understand that it is supposed to be funny. Next, Michael J. Fox is in a scene where he is sitting next to the prettiest girl in school, and he bits the side of a beer. The beer sprays all over everyone, and everyone is laughing. Lastly, the trailer adds in a clip where Michael J. Fox is surfing on top of a van while his best friend is driving while playing “Surfin’ USA.” While he is on top of the van, he is doing tricks and flips, which adds to the humor of the movie. Throughout the entirety of the trailer, the creators of the movie trailer have most of the clips of the trailer have some sort of humor to it. Whether its Michael J. It adds in the fantasy aspect by using a clip in the trailer that makes the people watching the trailer want to figure out what happened to Michael J. Fox, and how he is going to handle living as a werewolf in high school. The trailer adds in it comedy aspect by having most of the trailer revolve around comedy. In a multitude of scenes, Michael J. Fox is either doing something embarrassing, or he is doing something really cool or weird, such as Michael J. Fox dancing on top of a van while playing “Surfin’ USA.” Throughout watching the trailer for the first-time, I was in love with the comedy and fantasy the trailer was showing me. That is because the trailer was tailored to apply to a younger audience. Most adults today would not have found the movie trailer funny or fantastical. Most of the adults today, would actually would have found comedy in making fun the trailer. This is because humor changes with time. In today’s day, people might find it funny how older movies had bad sound effects, and visual effects. In 1985, the makeup, the special effects, and the sound effects all would have been top of the line. This would ensure that the comedy would have been used to its best of its ability, and the makeup would ensure that people would believe in the fantasy and want find out more about the teen
