Blame is to assign responsibility for a fault or a wrong. People put the blame on others to give themselves positive images or to not give themselves a negative outlook. Blame plays a gargantuan role in Romeo and Juliet, because if there was not any blame the star-crossed lovers may still be alive. The two facets that are to blame for the demise of Romeo and Juliet are, Mercutio and Romeo and Juliet.
The first factor that is to blame is Mercutio. Mercutio is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet because, Mercutio brought Romeo to Capulet’s party. Mercutio was invited to Capulet’s party, but the person who handed out the invitations could not read, so Mercutio had brought Romeo to the party. Once they had arrived the men went to find ladies to hang out with, but it was there that Romeo had fallen for the beauty that was Juliet, whilst she was dancing. Romeo found a way to get to Juliet, and talked to her and that is when they fell in love. This supports the thesis because, if Mercutio had not brought Romeo, Romeo would not have fallen in love, therefore Paris and Juliet would have been married, which in turn would have resulted with both of them living. After the night of romance between Romeo and Juliet, Romeo approached Friar Laurence to ask, if he could conduct a marital ceremony for the two lover. This is impulsive since they had only met two days ago, and had only been in each other’s presence for about twelve or thirteen hours. This verifies the thesis because, if they had actually taken time to figure out how this would turn out, they would have been more cautious or not even had gotten married.
