This essay is about the movie Gone Girl. This movie is dark and thrilling. It welcomes you into the world of mental illness. What you think is real isn’t actually real. This is because of one of the main characters, Amy Dunne. She is the wife of Nick Dunne, a cheating husband. To get back at him for cheating, Amy frames her husband for murder, and she does ruthless things to convince the police she’s innocent. She fakes pregnancies, forms a friendship to spread lies about her husband and even tells the police she was raped to justify murder. Mental Illnesses aren’t typically viewed as dangerous. However, the topic of this essay revolves around a dangerous mental illness. We will be diagnosing Amy Dunne with Antisocial personality disorder, commonly known as “psychopathy.”

You could say it opened my eyes to a whole new world. Mental illness can be confusing, but what Amy suffers from is real and deadly. It’s hard to diagnose someone, because no one can completely fit into a category. Though, I think it’s pretty obvious she suffers from a personality disorder.
