Orientation Discussion 1 What previous undergraduate strengths can you draw from as you begin working on assignments and discussions for master's level courses The previous experiences that influence my academic skills, was I have noticed my mentors have changed. The persons who I modeled my behaviors, and career goals have changed now achieved my undergraduate degree. I expect my role models to change again after I achieve my MA in General Mental Health Counseling. The anticipation of a variety of work, and the need to continue my educational required learning creates opportunities to either work towards a PHD in Counseling, or a MA in Health Law and Policy from Hofstra Law.

The writing skills that I have developed from Smarthinking Tutoring was gained by thinking about the audience of readers who will be reading my passages, and articles. Smarthinking helped take away the challenge of having no one to review my writing and work. Often I find that I can read my papers aloud, and process different types of grammar checks but, having a second opinion about articles and discussions helps articulate on a higher level. Thinking about the work, I do and connecting socially to my audience has developed my writing and made it more three dimensional. Health Law and policy as it is related to counseling holds potential for advocacy for clients. The ethical treatment of clients who will be introduced to new methods of treatments and technologies are important to consider in the helping profession. Implementing checks and balances for therapeutic techniques, is important to consider when any services is provided in a client, provider relationship. I predict growth of the medical profession in the use of computer assisted environments, and access which will allow the counseling to take place online. Additional access and safeguards will need to be in place to prevent persons from potentially misusing people, their position or financial benefit from this
