The male and female with dreams of their heart’s desire; the man and woman with memories of their spouse; the mother with thoughts of her daughter far away in college; these people and a great many others, the music world recognizes and seeks to touch. They make songs of love the most popular and most listened to. In addition to being a subject with endless representation, love in one aspect or another affects everyone. "Somewhere Out There" from the classical animation "A n American Tale" and Selena’s "Dreaming of You," two particularly inspirational love songs, are products of music that have successfully achieved a quiet lasting popularity. With the music industry also taking to the World Wide Web, these song lyrics and melodies are now easily found anywhere there might be a computer. The songs soothing, slumberous rhythm wraps their world of listeners--the young and old, man and woman, hard rock and contemporary fans--in a cloak of content. Instead of saddening, depress ing, or infuriating, the soft melodies and gentle lyrics harmonize to awaken the sense of hope in the hearts, the possibility of love, and the comforting knowledge that we are not lonely souls.
