Specific Purpose: To motivate my audience to donate monetary items to the Make A Wish Foundation.
Thesis Statement: Donating to the Make A Wish Foundation can change someone’s life, give the individual the motivation to fight through their illness, and bring the community and the family closer together.

My first question was asking exactly that. 11 people said yes and 2 people said no. That helped me determine how much information I should present about the foundation.

My next question was if anyone in the audience has had any family members or friends suffering from childhood cancer. 5 people said yes and 8 people said no. I was surprised because that is a lot of people who said yes for a small class. These results gave me a path to persuade for my speech. I knew pathos was the best option because this topic is relatable to many people.

The first two questions were my main questions and they gave me good information to go off for my speech. Also, I figured out helpful information about my audience. My next two questions got about the same results. Most people either felt some type of sad or angry when they see a child sick. I wanted to put that in there because my speech used a lot of pathos, so that also helped me. My last question was useful because I wanted to see the audience’s reaction. Most people felt that life can be hard and we do not always deserve what happens to
