Macbeth Honor Vs Disloyalty

William Shakespeare wrote a play titled “The Tragedy of Macbeth” that took place in Scotland. In the story, the main character, Macbeth, committed multiple murders in order to obtain the throne and become king of Scotland. This Vicious act caused numerous characters to display the dominant theme of Honor vs. Disloyalty.
To begin with Banquo, Macduff, Malcolm, the Doctor and Lennox all showed honor vs. disloyalty towards Macbeth. Lennox was very loyal to Macbeth through out the entirety of the play. He never saw any fault in Macbeth. Lennox believed that Macbeth was even loyal to King Duncan and that he cared for him. Macduff on the other hand displayed characteristics of disloyalty towards Macbeth. When Macbeth became king, Macduff fled to England because he felt Macbeth did not make a trustworthy King. Macduff was more loyal to Scotland than he was to Macbeth. Both Lennox and Macduff demonstrate honor vs. disloyalty. …show more content…

During the first half of the play Banquo was very loyal and honorable towards Macbeth. Banquo was with Macbeth when the three witches prophesied to him. Macbeth asked Banquo to keep what they heard between the two of them. Banquo agreed to keep the secret, which showed his loyalty towards Macbeth. Malcolm, even though he knew nothing of Macbeth’s twisted plan to murder his father, was very disloyal towards Macbeth and Scotland. After his father’s death, Malcolm fled to England also. This showed his disloyalty towards Macbeth because he would now be king. These to characters also displayed actions of honor vs.
