Lysander and Hermia along with Demetrius and Helena are two couples that have many similarities and differences. While both couples are influenced by outside forces, Helena and Demetrius reflect artificial love, while Lysander and Hermia reflect true love when the play ends. The commencement to both relationships are very different. Lysander and Hermia are in love from the very beginning and decide to run away to get married when they find out Hermia will be killed if she does not marry Demetrius.
