Yves Saint Laurent Yves Saint Laurent, or should i say Yves Henri Donat Mattiheu Saint Laurent Started out as a bullied child in school, and turned out to be one of the most successful fashion designers in the world. It didn’t come without a price to pay though.
Early life
Saint Laurent was born on August first 1936 in Oran, Algeria. His parents were Charles and Lucienne Audree Matthieu Saint Laurent. He had two siblings. They were both girls, Michelle and Bridgitte. His father was a lawyer and an insurance broker. He also owned multiple movie theatres.

He was lucky enough to be on the medical staff. He only lasted about 20 days and was brought home and admitted to a mental institution because of a breakdown he had. AFter that whole situation simmered down and things started to seem like normal again, Saint Laurent decided to go back to his job with Christian Dior in Paris. When he arrived, he was told very alarming news that he had lost his job while at war. He sued Christian Dior a whoppin’ 48,000 Euros. (52,471.20 US dollars) After he received the money, he was able to snag an opportunity of a lifetime. He was able to work with his partner in crime and his lover at the time, Pierre Berge. Soon after the two had bonded so well, Berge decided to open up a fashion house for Saint Laurent. For the next twenty years or so, Saint Laurent sat at the very tip top of the fashion pyramid designing anything you could imagine! After the separation of the dynamic duo, Saint Laurent began obtaining an addiction with cocaine and alcohol. Other designers were getting turned off by what Saint Laurent was putting out there in the fashion industry. In the early 1990’s, he found a way to make a huge comeback.
