Life, Love, and Loss The cycle of the three L’s goes like this: You have to experience life to find love, you have to find love before you can feel loss, and you have to go through loss to better understand life. Each of these principles are found in the book Signal Grace, and are written about in such a way that most people can relate to Tiffany and appreciate the way she exposes herself through her writing. In my short seventeen years of life I haven’t experienced everything that Tiffany has, but when you look at the big picture It’s easy to empathize with the feelings that life, love, and loss bring. Life is arguably the most complex concept to grasp. There are days where feelings of total bliss occur and you feel as if nothing can stop you. Then there are the days where feelings of rage and confusion take over and you can’t help but wonder why life is out to get you. In Signal Grace, Tiffany mentions how she often felt beat down by depression, confusion, and lack of purpose. Most days I feel confident about why I was put on this planet, but on the really dark ones, it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then there are the people that come along and force you to look at life in a different perspective. For Tiffany it was Michael, who made her believe anything was possible, and that it was okay to be different. I, on the other hand, don’t have just one person like this, I am lucky enough to learn from several people. This is the greatest gift my job has given me. I am currently working at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, and the elderly have not only taught me about life, but also about love. …show more content…

In reading Tiffany’s memoir, I found someone that has felt many of the same things that I have felt. This book will be one I won’t forget thanks to its brilliant structure, and the effect it had on my own
