Rules establish order and enables peace for everyone; thus, they are necessary for a civilized society. Without peace there would be no culture, kindness, and epiphanies of any kind. Prosperity is created by focuses on culture, kindness, and acceptance of differences. Rules are the fundamentals for success and acceptance. In this paper, the idea of rules and their importance to society will be further evaluated. With success, acceptance, and kindness in mind, it can be seen in the book, Lord of the Flies, that the most successful outcomes of the island were made with kindness and epiphanies of many kinds. This leads to fairness of judgement and actions. If someone has murdered another in the United States, they will go to a trial and receive a sentence saying whether the accused person is guilty or innocent. The way innocence is determined is the same for everyone based on a set of rules and laws the jury and judge must follow. This ensures each trial is fair and equal. Without this equality, many people would do what they feel like. Many would get away with something that is unfair and unjust in the world. When the boys killed Simon, they felt no repercussions for their actions, even though it was an accident. The boys thought he was "The Beast", and when Simon fell into the middle of the circle, he was slain by vicious beatings. With no repercussions for the boys' actions, when it came time for someone to be killed again, no one had any remorse for slaying one of the smartest and most reliable boys on the island. '"See? See?
