In the New York Times article “Literacy Debate: Online, R U Really Reading?”, the author, Motoko Rich, brings up a series of points, many of which seem to be making the argument that reading online is not as good as reading from a physical book. I disagree with Rich. I believe that the article, written in 2008, is now somewhat outdated. The internet has developed to be one of the best resources for information. Whether you want to read about the characters in a novel, study scholarly articles for your upcoming midterms, or read about what’s happening in your favorite celebrity’s life, the internet will have it.
