The Leadership role has it’s exceptional demand on it’s own when it comes to big metropolis organization. The organization I work at it has chain facilities where leaders are not judged by the followers. The followership quotient definitely depends on the behavior of the leader, and most followers follow the footsteps of the leader. Perhaps the organization I work for has it’s own defaults when it comes to leadership. I often look at my manager as the leader of the team, and other times, I look at our scheduling leader and feel she the leader of the team. However my perspective changes based on the scenarios that get handled by each of them.
Like my manager has the power, the authority to make decisions; that my leader doesn’t. He has right to make the call whether at the end of the day is it ok to overbook the schedule where as my leader has only right to tell me to check every facility schedule accommodate the patient where there’s opening. Therefore, a executive title might have the power to terminate the employee, or make decision against the employees will, but a leader has the power to share the concern with the team. The leader does have to maintain the team spirit at the same time they will need to take care of their responsibilities. There were many times when I have noticed my leader should have been there to defend the teammates at certain situation, the leader wasn’t available. On the other hand my manager was always there to defend the mistake for every employee, he comes to defend us not as a manager, neither as leader, but he proves that we are learning new protocols day by day, humans a prone to mistakes but as long a mistake doesn’t get repeated that’s all matters.
