Laramie project is very sensitive and crucial issue which was wisely broad up in the form of a docudrama in front of the community. The story of Matthew Shepard's highlighted many issues like hate crime, gay/lesbian relationship and personal identity which are still considered as tactful for many peoples. This play also described the role of media, police and an individual in the entire process and shows the influence of this incidence on a person's life.
Most of the time when hate crime happen in the society, everyone got feared and questions the environment they living in. Same happened in the case of Matthew Shepard's, when everyone in Laramie got the news of the inhuman behavior incident happened with him. Due to Matthews nice and cheerful personality it was hard for his family and friends to believe on that news. This mishap left a feeling of distrust and insecurity in the society which can be conducted by the way many people used the phrase, “Live and Let Live”in the project. In Laramie project, both played a good job, as the media recorded the every detail of the this project and on the other hand the police retained the peaceful environment in the society and caught the victims. According to daily journalist, “People need news/information for various reasons, on one hand it can be used to socialize and on the other to make decisions and formulate opinions”. This element of media helped the people around the world to aware them with the incident happened in Laramie. Furthermore, this media coverage arose the question about the safety of bisextuls in the society. As a reference, in the video may bisexual people admitted that Laramie is not considered as a good town for them.
