This week I was given the opportunity to visit Korda Engineering located at 1650 Watermark Drive, Columbus, Ohio. Their place of business was located in an office park near downtown Columbus. There were few office buildings that surrounded, and there were no restaurants to be seen. From the road, Korda looks like a simple two story brick building. The windows of the structure are plain running horizontal and parallel with the top and bottom floors. The most interesting part of the exterior was the entrance. The two glass doors at the entrance were surrounded by glass windows in a concave shape toward the building. This concave area is held up in the middle by a post made of brick. The interior of the building felt just as plain as …show more content…

These qualities are the ability to solve problems, good communication skills, and general knowledge. The ability to solve problems is crucial to the engineering process. This quality is linked jointly with both knowledge and communication. Knowledge is definitely needed to solve problems and communicating ideas with others is essential. Communication skills are needed in nearly every aspect of this occupation. To first get a project, an engineer must go out and find a client that will submit their plans to them. Engineers are rarely assigned projects and must get them from presenting to clients. After they are assigned a project, they must communicate with the client what they want and how they want it done. Engineers are also required to let clients know if their project would end up being over or under budget. General knowledge is most likely the greatest quality of the three that are listed. For some this is an inherent quality, but others can work hard enough to achieve this. Knowledge is closely related to problem solving, but it is based more on what’s known about the basics and more advanced aspects of engineering itself. Every one of these qualities are absolutely necessary to being a great
