“It had doughy, unhealthy skin and red hair that stuck up in bristles. It seemed never to have been in the sun, and its hands were twisted like claws above the straps that held it down.” “Its tongue protruded from its mouth and drooled saliva down its chin.” -Nancy Farmer The House of the Scorpion (Chapter 12 pg.112). Macgregor’s clone is a textbook example of what clones are in Opium and why they are regarded as animals. Matteo Alacrán is more than just a drooling mess of a clone. Have you ever had someone that you look up to? There is somebody that lots of students at West Delaware look up to that teaches a lot of things. This hero has taught everybody in general many things involving, school, sports, and to be a good person in general. Brett Mather, my hero, is a coach and a teacher at West Delaware High School. The MLL stands for Major League Lacrosse. It’s what follows after college, same as the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. The difference between the MLL and those big professional sports is that MLL players average salary is between $10,000 and $30,000 (Forbes). The other salaries all are over one million dollars for the average (Forbes/Wikipeida). People of course will be more familiar with basketball, baseball, or football. Lacrosse though, should be praised as much as those sports. That’s because MLL players don’t practice as much as the other sports but still compete at a very high skill level, the players have a burning passion for the sport, and the players have to be able to create chemistry with their players in one practice.
Every time I play lacrosse I feel like I am a part of something greater than myself. Being a part of something greater than myself, being changed in my life forever has made me think and feel whenever I play lacrosse. When I was younger playing lacrosse was a learning experience. Playing with more skilled or less skilled girls in lacrosse and playing different positions except for one every game, practice and scrimmage all the time makes me get a different perspective. Playing lacrosse for quick sticks has changed my life forever.

Lacrosse is a fast-growing American high school sport and becoming very successful within the past few decades, so it’s important to analyze how lacrosse has gotten to where it is today and what impacted the spread. The research question is: How has lacrosse changed over the years, and what impacted the spread? Research shows that lacrosse is becoming more popular every year, and many more people are becoming aware of this sport so the history behind what is known as ‘America’s first sport’ should be known. According to the National Federation of State High School, between 2009 and 2013, participation between high school boys and girls has increased for a total of 34%. Today, over 1400 high schools in the US include
Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America, having been played by Native American tribes long before any European had even set foot on the continent. A century after European missionaries discovered the game played by Native Americans, they began to play it themselves, starting in the 18th century. From there, it evolved and grew in popularity from a very savage game that resembled war, into what it is today, a recreational sport played widely in America and other countries. As U.S. Lacrosse literature aptly puts it, “Lacrosse is a game born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, adopted and raised by the Canadians, and later dominated by the Americans.” When the first people of America started playing lacrosse centuries ago, the game served many purposes.

Lamont Folsom is a 38-year-old currently residing in highland springs better known as Henrico county Virginia. He graduated from Virginia State in 2004 where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He is currently an algebra one teacher at Highland Springs high school and he is an all American in track and field for the 4 by 200-meter relay. While my coach has admitted to me that he does not enjoy teaching as much as thought he would there are tons of other things that he enjoys to do such as coaching, running on his free time, and fundraising for the Highland Springs track and field team.
As more of my teammates began to show up, I recognized most of them. However, I learned later that if I went on to play in the Spring, this would not be the same exact team I would play with. With only twenty minutes until we began,I put on all of my gear and my dad gave me a thorough warm up. Time seemed to fly by, and before I knew it, everyone was gathered together as positions were being assigned. I was originally overwhelmed with excitement, but as the game drew closer, the joy I had felt was replaced with anxiety. The lacrosse game taking place before ours ended and we entered and took our place on our bench. I recognized the opposing team’s jerseys quickly and identified them as a travel team from our area. Taking one final breath, I rushed into the lacrosse net enjoying my bird’s eye view, unsure of what was to
Participation in sports and games has long been a part of Native culture. The most significant example of a sport invented and played by Natives is lacrosse. Lacrosse is still designated as the official sport of Canada despite the overwhelming popularity of hockey (http://canada.gc.ca). Lacrosse was one of many varieties of indigenous stickball games being played by Native Americans and Canadians at the time of European contact. Almost exclusively a male team sport, it is distinguished from other stick and ball games, such as field hockey or shinny, by the use of a netted racquet with which to pick the ball off the ground, throw, catch and vault it into or past a goal to score a point.
"… No matter what kind of origin you have, you can succeed and rise to unprecedented. The American dream is still alive, but it definitely takes hard work and a lot of luck." The Macintosh (Mac) computer constitutes Apple’s strategic business unit (SBU) in the PC industry. This SBU operates at a cost disadvantage, since it costs more to produce than other PCs, who all use similar or the same components (WS16). It has few opportunities for growth at a reasonable cost (WS16). Additionally, the market is not growing, conversely, it is in a decline (WS16). Apple had a 10.7% share of the PC market in 2011 (Exhibit 3). Total Mac unit sales, from 2010 to 2011, saw a 22% growth, which was significant less than the growth of iPads and iPhones (Exhibit 2). Based on this assessment, Apple should consider focusing on a specialized segment of this market, that they believe they will be able to dominate (WS16). Alternatively, they could harvest, divest, or abandon the SBU (WS16). Of the SBUs that Apple is diversified into, the Mac has the least amount of synergy (WS18). The supplies and components are different than the other SBUs, therefore they are unable to benefit from a reduction in costs (WS18). Additionally, the technology is not transferrable to the other SBUs (WS18). The Mac is not in an attractive industry, however, it does have moderate competitive strength compared to that of rivals (WS17). This business unit is an ideal candidate for divestiture, as it is not in a strong enough competitive position to counteract the unattractive industry (Thompson, Peteraf, Gamble, & Strickland, 2014).
We learned a lot of things in this course, but I think the most important lesson I learned is that it’s not easy to be an entrepreneur. I was surprised to hear in the first class that 80% of startups fail, but after reading The Art of Start and E-myth Revisited I understood why this happens more often than one might expects. Some people start their own businesses for the wrong reason and some start with wrong mindset. I’ve always thought that if someone has a brilliant business idea and hardworking they will succeed and grow their business. However, now I know that there are many things to consider before starting any business. In fact, there are many strategies that an entrepreneur could follow to achieve success, such as know your customers, work “on” the business, and how
