Johnny Stompanato, he was a man that had it all. He was a low down gangster that fit the stereotype you see in the movies. Boyfriend of Lana Turner, Johnny Stompanato was the case that rocked the LA world. The killing of Johnny Stompanato was considered a justifiable Homicide, but it went down in history for all the speculations that followed. Johnny Stompanato grew up in the 1920's and also the 1930's. He was son to John Sr and Carmela. Both his parents were born in Italy but they eventually moved to Brooklyn where they had met and fell in love. They had him, and his 3 siblings; Grace, Teresa, and lastly Carmine. So the court ruled it as a justifiable homicide, it was very public, and soon doubt and speculations appeared. People thought that Lana Turner's daughter was a cover up, that Lana was the one to kill john and not her daughter. People said that she used her daughter to take the fault, because she knew her daughter would get let off easy. Other people had different opinions and doubts, They thought that Crane was in love with john. That lana came home and saw them in bed and in her blind rage and jealousy that she killed him, and made her daughter take the blame. Later in the future Crane would later create a book; Detour: A Hollywood Story. In the book it talked about john sexually abusing her, and she said she blacked out when he got killed. She did not remember picking up the knife, thus the reason for the doubts and speculations that arise. Also the fact that he "walked into the knife" many people especially his son thought that it was all a cover up, that she killed him in cold blood.
