Johnny Depp is considered to be one of the greatest actors of the 21st century so far. He is considered to be so because of his ability to transform his character to the point where the audience actually thinks that is who he is in real life. This transfers to his real life as well. He is so good at acting to the point where he does not even know that he is acting. He does not know quite when to return to reality once he is done acting. Which I argue is the main reason why he is one of the best actors. I consider him to be a flamboyant and eccentric style of actor. There could not have been a better role for Depp to star in. Willy Wonka is supposed to be a mysterious and strange man. Who else could play this role any better than Depp? He nails the part leaving many people feeling as if the re-make of the movie is better than the old one. He took the role and added the Johnny Depp flare to it. The old Willy Wonka was nice and kind. Depp made Wonka into strange and odd character. He turned the character around 180 degrees. He made it work as well. Now when most people think about Willy Wonka they imagine Depp in the role because of the impact he had starring as Wonka. Depp soon finds himself unable to tell the difference from his real life family and the mob family he has come to know too well. He finds himself conflicted about trying to bring the empire down because he is afraid it might have an effect on his family’s safety. Depp is able to pull off being two completely different characters in this movie. That is impressive in and of itself. This film was made in 1997 and for the time this type of role by Depp had not really been seen in other movies. It was a revolutionary idea that Johnny Depp acted out in this film. But in the lesser role of the prince's evil half brother, Keanu Reeves didn?t appear to be all that special, at times he did look evil but I have never been a big fan of Keanu?s acting. He always sounds like a baboon when he opens his mouth. Maybe I am just remembering too much of Bill and Ted?s Excellent adventure?

The book, originally published in 1964, was first made into a movie in 1971. In this movie, Gene Wilder played a remarkable role of Willy Wonka as well. Despite the many differences in the actors, both had huge success playing the role of the wacky, chocolate loving Mr. Wonka.
... He really sold the part and did the part justice. Furthermore in the beginning of the flashback I had no idea who the main character was, but Christian developed the character subtly yet effectively.
As Oskar Schindler, Liam Neeson does an outstanding job of portraying a savy buisness man and a caring human being. Ben Kingsley plays his part with heart and cleverness. Ralph Fiennes is so completely believable as Amon Goeth. I would have never wanted to cross the path of that man. The people who played the jews were so convincing in their parts. This film truly has the feel of a documentary.
