Joan of Arc was a peasant girl who lived in medieval France. She was catholic and she said that God has chosen her to lead Franse to victory, in a war that was against England. She had to get permission from Charles of Valois to allow her to lead the French army. For that she had to go to Orléans. Later on she was captured by Anglo Burgundian forces. She was captured for witchcraft and heresy, she was then burned at the stake. She was a witch and then she became a saint. Joan of Arc was born around 1412. She was the daughter of a tenant farmer, from the village of Domrémy in Northeatern France. She didn't go to school so she couldn't read or write. Her mother was very catholic and instilled in her a deep love for God and the church along with its teachings. At the age of thirteen Joan started to hear voices. She didn't know what the voices were but she determined that the voices were sent by God. She said that the message was from God and that it was overwhelming importance. She was told to save France by expelling the enemies that they are gonna fight against, and to install Charles as it's rightful King. In May 1428, she began her journey with the army they went to Vaucouleurs, which is a nearby housing place for those who are loyal to Charles. When Baudricort relented her, she cut of her hair to make it look like a guys hair cut, and she dressed her self in men's clothes so she could make the eleven day journey to Chinon. They had to cross the enemy territory to get there. Joan said that she would see Charles crowned King at Reims, it's the traditional site of French royal investiture. After that was done, she asked Charles to let her lead an army to Orléans. The counselors and generals all had to talk about it and Charles was able to give her the request she asked for.
