On November 22nd, 1963, the thirty-fifth president, John Fitzgerald “Jack” Kennedy, was assassinated in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX. This event would later become one of the most infamous and discussed conspiracies of the century, sparking controversy across the nation. His shooter was an ex-marine, sharp shooter named Lee Harvey Oswald. Over the years, many government officials have pledged that President JFK’s death was a one-man job. However, researchers and theorists suspect that this was not the case due to sketchy coincidences and fragmented information they struggle to piece together. These have lead the public as well as some experts to believe and hypothesize their own conspiracies like the assassination being a more elaborate scheme or inside job. John F. For some, it was the only thing they believed about the case for many reasons. For one, Oswald was originally brought in for the murder of police officer, named J.D. Tippit, who thought he resemble the suspect as described—some critics claim Oswald was wrongly accused of this crime. The description came from eyewitness, Howard Brennan, who claimed to see the shooter in the sixth-floor window from the ground. Analysts a skeptical on how he could see him well enough to give an accurate account to the police. In a lineup, Brennan “was unable to identify Oswald ‘for sure’.” Oswald was also given a test to detect gunpowder residue on his hand and cheek; his hands were found to possess the substance, but his cheek came back negative. This suggested that he may have fired a revolver, but not a rifle; therefore, he could not have been the one to shoot JFK from the window.
