Have you ever wondered about the people who lived before or during the Holocaust? How about the people who would put jews or other people in gas chambers? Well right now you will learn about Adolf Eichmann, one of the most dangerous people during the Holocaust, he would put Jews in gas chambers and shoot them.
March 19th, 1906 Adolf Eichmann was born in Solingen Germany. As a kid Eichmann was close to his mother but at age 10 his mom died, He was devastated but his father seemed to get over it pretty quick and married 2 years after that. In 1934, Eichmann was recruited as a member of the SS (Schutzstaffel- a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler, much like we think of the CIA, or FBI or a spy) and served as an SS corporal. In 1939 Eichmann returned to Berlan where he was appointed head of the Gestapo section IVb4. In 1940 he helped a leader named Hoss (military leader who selected the sites for the gas chambers). Eichmann coordinated the deportation of some 3,500 Jews from Moravia and Vienna to Nisko. A fellow Natzi reported Eichmann saying “we would leap laughing into the grave because the feeling that 5 Million people on his conscience would for him be a source of extraordinary satisfaction.” In 1944 Eichmann reported to Hitler that approximately 4 million Jews had died in death camps and that an estimated 2 million had been killed in mobile …show more content…

In 1950, with the help of the SS underground, he fled to Argentina and lived under the assumed name of Ricardo Klement for ten years until Israeli Mossad agents abducted him on May 11, 1960. He was taken to trial in 1961 in Jerusalem for crimes against the Jewish people, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Over 100 witnesses came to the trial to testify against him. Eichmann took the stand and used the defense “i was just obeying orders” he also used the defense “why me”, he asked “why not the local policeman thousands of them, they would have been shot if they had refused to round up the Jews for death camps, why not hang them for wanting to be shot, why me, everybody killed the Jews.” later that day he was sentenced to death. On june 1st 1962 he was hung and died at Ramleh Prison.
In conclusion the Holocaust was a bad time for Jews and many other people. Over 500,000 people got killed during the Holocaust, many families were split up and saddened over the loss of their loved ones. Many innocent people lost their lives during this period of time and it was very painful for everyone who went through it. While the hanging of Adolf Eichmann did not bring back the loss of all of the innocent people who passed away it did bring a sense of closure to such a tragic time in the
