Into the Arms of Strangers 1. In five sentences tell what you have learned about The Kindertransport and Great Britain’s rescue of Jewish children that you did not know before watching this documentary. I learned that siblings were not always sent together, but ofter times sent one at a time. I also learned that the children would work to bring their parents over. The often traveled from house to house looking for jobs for their parents so that they would be able to come to Great Britain. Not all of these attempts were successful. But, some of those who were able to being their parents over were met with sadness when they realized how much things have changed. What did you like least about the movie and why? There was nothing that I had particularly disliked about text movie, but one thing I wish they would have done, would be to go more in depth to how their lives were after they returned home. I thing it would be interesting to see how the family had changed after being apart for so long. 4. Was this movie appropriate for students studying the Holocaust? Support your answer with facts from the documentary. Yes, because it is important for us to know about those who escaped as well as those who were imprisoned in the concentration camps. The reason for this being, that even if they were not confined in the camp they still experienced persecution and limitations in other ways, and we should know about their circumstances as well. 5. What part of this documentary was the most powerful for you and why? The most powerful part of the documentary for me was when they read the letters they sent home and the letters the received from their parents. This struck a cord with me because let me look into how strong their family bonds were. It allowed me to see the love and longing they had for each other. This was very powerful for me. 6.
