Social Workers make a meaningful contribution to the improvement of its community and enhancing the lifetimes of the individuals within that community that could impact individuals in other neighboring communities. Social Workers strive to attain necessary education to identify the nature of communal diversity and oppression with respect, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, martial rank, political belief and mental or physical disability. As a communal operative, an individual could begin work on a macro scale, then progress into working for an association that helps underdeveloped states, or opt to work on a micro level, such as in a confidential exercise bestowing individual counseling. An individual have to be trustworthy and does not betray client confidentiality, unless you him or her needed to do so in precise conditions by regulation suck as in cases of suicidal. Not only does an individual have to act with integrity but also with coworkers. For example, a colleague gossiping about a client – it is okay to confront this colleague directly or report the supervisor about the situation. Human Dignity As a Social Worker, one must understand the value of human life regardless of their background/culture or beliefs. An individual has to respect the difference between personal briefs and those of his or her clients by taking into consideration ethnic and cultural diversity. There are periods that an individual have to deal with personal biases opposing a particular population. I have always had a special bond with children that is why at some point in my life, I would like to establish an orphanage back home and I believe taking this course would be of help to me later on. Children deserve to grow up in a structural home with people who love and care for them.
